The Chandrayaan-3 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota, on 14 July 2023; it soft landed on the moon on 23 August 2023 and India became the first country to land on the moon’s south pole. The Chandryaan-3 was a follow-up to Chandryaan-2, which crashed on the moon’s surface in 2019 after losing contact with the ground station.
However, ISRO didn’t stop there and achieved a soft landing on the moon’s south pole by the Chandrayaan-3 mission. Also, recently the Indian government has approved a budget of Rs. 2,104.06 crore for the Chandrayaan-4 mission.
This award is a significant achievement for ISRO and India’s space exploration program, as ISRO strives to become one of the leading global space agencies, incorporating international partnerships with ESA, NASA, etc. and achieving milestones in space exploration.
